The Preschool Blueprint is a teaching series that shows how to make Level 1 usable for preschool-age dancers. It is an adaptation guide, not a separate finished 40-week curriculum.
Start with the Blueprint
Open Preschool in the portal and watch the series in order. The topics cover preschool teaching foundations, class structure, music and movement, breaking down foundational movement, combining skills, freestyle and creativity, floor work, choreography, and classroom engagement.
Prepare the class
1. Choose the relevant Level 1 lesson and identify its main idea.
2. Select fewer movements and use shorter activity blocks.
3. Demonstrate one direction at a time.
4. Use repetition, imagination, and simple choices.
5. Keep transitions active and predictable.
6. Observe attention, coordination, comfort, and safety before adding difficulty.
Use the Blueprint as professional learning and adapt the Level 1 material to the dancers in front of you. Do not present the Blueprint as a formal preschool level or placement standard.
