Use the weekly lesson page as your preparation checklist. The Teaching Studio brings the lesson focus, class outline, matching videos, handout, and personal teaching controls together. Access depends on your own membership and studio role.
Choose the correct class and week
Begin in My Teaching when preparing an assigned class. Confirm the class name, schedule, curriculum, and next lesson. You can also browse Curricula and open an entitled curriculum and week. Each Hip Hop and Breaking level has 40 curriculum weeks; a week is a lesson in the progression, not necessarily a calendar week.
Studio class names can differ from Levels curriculum names. Check the Levels match as well as your studio’s familiar class name, especially when two classes use the same curriculum.
Read the purpose before choosing videos
Read What am I teaching today? and the weekly focus.
Choose the class length you are actually teaching.
Review the warm-up, skills, activity, and wrap-up.
Preview unfamiliar theme or skill videos and practice what affects your delivery.
Prepare the handout or other eligible resources you intend to use.
Many matching videos now play inside the portal. Use the available in-portal player; if a resource offers a Levels video-library alternative, sign in there with the same Levels membership account. You do not need to watch the whole library before preparing one class.
Adapt without losing the learning goal
Keep the lesson focus and foundations. Adjust repetition, grouping, travel, and coaching for the dancers and actual class length. Suggested timing is a planning guide, not a requirement to rush the group.
For class-specific help, choose Plan with Levels on the lesson page. The planner can prepare a substitute, adjust after a hard class, fit a shorter class, or explain the lesson to families. Select the correct class, review and edit the draft, and save only a plan you have checked. Do not enter dancer names or private family or medical information.
Save lesson and Mark as taught are different
Save lesson bookmarks the lesson for preparation in My Teaching. Opening a week, watching videos, or saving a lesson does not advance a class.
After class, check the Class selector and choose Mark as taught only when that class has been taught the lesson’s central purpose. Classes keep separate progress even when they use the same curriculum. Do not mark a canceled or untouched lesson taught.
If you marked the wrong lesson, open it for the correct class and use Taught · Reopen. Contact Levels if the class’s next week still looks wrong.
Use handouts within your access and plan terms
Preview the lesson handout. Print only if the action is available for your account and the intended use is allowed by your current plan terms. Portal availability is not a blanket distribution license; ask Levels if printing or family sharing rights are unclear.
